Wheels Go Bust
It is finished. 7 years and 170,000 miles - of which 4 years and 120,000 miles are attributable to me. After throwing more money at the Nissan Ratmobile this year than the pervious three years combined, the last air-sucking, big gaping wound opened wide and suffocated me in the grind of a transmission that went PIF!
Adding insult to injury, my motor club (Allstate, for those that want to know who NOT to choose) could not get me a tow truck. One company refused to take me to my requested destination, no more than 8 miles where I was sitting dead on the road at 1 a.m. Another flatly refused to even come get me. I was left to the mercies of the Town of Tuxedo P.D. tow call list. They did respond quickly, and $196.00 later I was home. Guh. Anyone want to help draft the letter to Allstate that will ensure I get all my $$ back?
So now I have to car shop. I discovered that I HATE this. I love food shopping, clothes shopping, but cannot deal with the big-ticket-sweaty-palm-buyers-guilt-impending-doom feeling of buying a car. A neccessary evil I suppose. I'll keep you posted on my progress.
For those of you that would like to show ol' ResearchGuy a little love, you can help me get back on my wheels here:

arggg I hate car shopping as well. we needed one so bad last year that I found one on Craigslist for 14,000. and yes it's been a good car but we are in debt to family forever it seems. Blessings to you and the family and hopefully something will come to you soon.
Hugs, Zissy
So where is the pic of the new one...?!?!
