In My Head
Swirling & twisting, taunting me, daring me to catch it; there's a song in there banging off my eardrums, pushing colors onto my eyes, tickling my tongue with rhythmic syllables. I want to shake it out of my ears, spit forth a chorus and be done with it. Echo echo down the hall, have I got no chops at all? I'm sure it's derivative - what else could it be? Maybe I need to listen to something else, lift a verse here, snip a hook there.
Somebody drop me a note.

A note?
How 'bout a whole chord.
I always liked Em for some reason.

I think that to get it out of your head, you have to get you out of your head. Pick up the instrument and play, keep playing till it feels right, then just listen to what you're doing. Worth a shot, anyway, right?
doe a deer a female deer.
ray a drop of golden sun...
ad nauseum.

"A" flat. Or perhaps the "F" below middle "C". Either one will work.
Em/D is one of my favorite chords. But Ry is right, start playing see what comes. Delve into it with your whole person, not just your head, and see where you end up. :hug:
Hey you! You are music to my ears! How's life? The wee rats doing well and learning new ways to drive ya crazy? Romance nipping at your heels?
Catch me up!
{{{hugs galore}}}

That song in my head over and over is "Smells like Teen Spirit"
It'll come. Just give the Muses a chance to organize a little better...
