Obloquy

Even in the sharpness of clear conversation
I question so many things
Lifting myself from calm stasis
I frame the turbidity
Creating tumult among tranquility
Ne'er sated by alimental regards
I concuss the rational coloratura
Demonizing sweet descant until
Elegy is all I hear.
Dirige, Domine, Deus meus,
in conspectu tuo viam meam

There are no eyes within the soul of the leper
To guide his heart to grace.

"To guide his heart to grace"

What a great line! Grace is one of my favorite words. Growing up there was a woman in the neighborhood that I really looked up to named Grace. I like the word as an adjective - being graceful has always been a goal of mine. In Spanish, gracioso has a slightly different meaning that I have, in my mind, managed to attach to the English word. And finally the spiritual meaning. Mercy is not getting what we deserve. But grace...Grace is getting what we don't deserve. My life is full of grace, blessings that I don't deserve. And I am grateful. And when I forget that my life dims and loses color. It becomes bland, self-centered, ungrateful. Being guided back to grace is what saves me.

Great line.
