Flowers and Hearts
You all know I am a music junkie. Love songs have returned to my rotation. Don't puke now - the sap is only going to get thicker around here.
Going as far back as I can remember, I had the predisposition for these songs. One of my bandmates even called me the "Sappy Love Song Writer." And I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I mean, ask Paul McCartney for gosh sakes!
So to illustrate, here are some songs that are new to me that celebrate my entry back in to the hearfelt arena:
Peter Gabriel - The Book of Love,
The book of love is long and boring
No one can lift the damn thing
It's full of charts and facts and figures
and instructions for dancing
But I
I love it when you read to me
And you
You can read me anything
The book of love has music in it
In fact that's where music comes from
Some of it is just transcendental
Some of it is just really dumb
But I
I love it when you sing to me
And you
You can sing me anything
The book of love is long and boring
And written very long ago
It's full of flowers and heart-shaped boxes
And things we're all too young to know
But I
I love it when you give me things
And you
You ought to give me wedding rings
And I
I love it when you give me things
And you
You ought to give me wedding rings
And I
I love it when you give me things
And you
You ought to give me wedding rings
You ought to give me wedding rings
as well as
Luka Bloom - Can't Help Falling In Love
Alanda Grace - Black Roses Red
Kenny Loggins - Always, In All Ways
I'm just so wonderfully, stupidly happy. These songs echo that. Maybe you could add some of your own favorite sappy songs in your comments and I'll make up a whole CD of them and play it in my car for perpetual bliss.
Not a bad thing in my book.
